The modern marker at the foot of his old tombstone indicates that during the Revolutionary war, Michael served in the Dunmore County Militia. Dunmore County, located in Virginia, was renamed:
Shenandoah County.

Hannah came to the US from Sweden. Her sir-name there was Swenson and was changed to Youngquist after arrival in the states.

Fred came to the US when he was 13 years old and met Rosa, who had come to the US when she was 6, in White Water, Kansas. They married in 1896 and moved later to Oklahoma. They moved to Summerfield, Texas in 1929
with five of their fifteen children. The older children were left in Oklahoma.

Michael Lentz enlisted 2/11/1862 in Hiawasee, Georga, as a private in Co., D, 24th Regiment, Georgia Volunteer Infantry, CSA. He served in that unit until his capture on 6/1/1864 at Cold Harbor, Virginia. Soon thereafter he and other POW's were marched to White House, Virginia, arriving there on 6/11/1864, then shipped by boat to POW prison at Point Lookout, Maryland, and thenshipped probably by train on 7/21/1864 to Elmira, New York. He was released from Elmira on 6/16/1865

Mother (Leatrus) told me that Annie DeLozier told her that Sanford was killed
accidently of a gun shot while getting ready to go on a hunting trip with family
members. The gun belonged to Bob Lance and one of Sanford's uncles had the gun which accidently discharged, killing him.

Archie Roberts came to Virginia with the Welch Colonies from England. He
setteled in Virgina and raised a family. He was killed when his children were small by Indians. Nathan and Uncle Daniel went to Tennessee. Later to Alabama. Nathan became a Baptist preacher; Daniel returned to Virginia and killed Dick Benje. the half-breed Indian leader who killed his father. Then
Uncle Daniel returned to Alabama and became a man of means & influence. This was near Tuscaloosa, Alabama. by William Powell Roberts, 1924
