All of Allie's children were born at home. Jimmie Paul was born in the early morning hours of 10/28/1929 and the twins were up early to see the new baby.
Allie wouldn't let them on the bed and they went into the kitchen where the
fire was being started to cook breakfast. Mistakenly, gasoline was "pitched" on the fire to get it started and the "whoosh" engulfed the twins, still in their
night shirts. They ran to Allie and she covered them with the spread from the bed to smother the fire. They were dead on arrival at the hospital and all that
was left of their night shirts was the lace wrist band and collar.
