James Henry was a member of the 3rd Arkansas Cavalry, Company G. He served as a Private. The 3rd Arkansas Cavalry was organized at Little Rock, Arkansas, June 10, 1861, under the command of Colonel Solon Borland, and was initially known as the 1st Arkansas Mounted Volunteers. On acceptance into Confederate service on July 24, 1861, the regiments was renamed as the 3rd Arkansas Cavalry on Janualry 15, 1862. (from Patrice Louinet-patrice.louinet@

JOHN THOMAS WALSER SERVED IN THE CIVIL WAR, 3/1/1862 TO 5/21/1864 AS A PRIVATE FOR COMPANY C, 35TH REGIMNET OF THE MISSISSIPPI VOLUNTEERS, THE CONFEDERATE STATES OF AMERICA, UNDER THE COMMAND OF CAPTAIN COX AND COLONEL W. S. BARRY.

HE WAS WOUNDED AND DIED IN A MILITARY HOSPITAL AT SELMA, ALABAMA.
HIS BODY WAS CLAIMED ON 9/26/1864 BY THIS FATHER, GEORGE WASHINGTON WALSER AND WAS BURIED IN SELMA, ALABAMA. SEARCHING OF RECORDS IN SELMA, ALABAMA DID NOT INDICATE WHERE JOHN THOMAS WAS BURIED.
