John Wesley, know as Shotgun, acquired the nickname for his fast-ball pitch in baseball.  As reported by Clarence McCalister who was told the information by
Jesse Ear.

Martha Romine, historian/cemetery record keeper, who lives in Montague, Texas told me (Leaton) that John Wesley had hand-dug the majority of the older graves in Montague cemetery.
