Robert, known as Bob, was lynched for killing his mother-in-lay, Eliza Myers Walser. He maintained that he did not shoot her.......

The story is that Eliza was "a real bitch" and kidnapped her daughter, Laura, just before her and Bob's baby, Clara Vestal, was born. Bob grabbed the baby and ran and his story is "he heard shots being fired as he ran away. Anyway, he was lynched.

This child, Clara Vestal later married Daniel Jackson Hobbs, who died. She then married William Davis Walser and bore him 11 children. ¹
