Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church at two o'clock Monday afternoon for Claude H. Vaden, 69, who passed away at his home on east Main Street at 7:30 Saturday evening, January, 20.
Rev. G. B. Bailey, pastor of the church, conducted the final rites. Assisting Rev. Bailey was Rev. Harry Holmes of Brownwood.
Pallbearers were: B. W. Scott, R. L. Mullins, C. T. Wasson, Dwight Gardner, J. F. Whittemore and Albert McAbee.
Honorary Pallbearers were: Ula Bush, Ed Davis, Sid Whittle, Leon Maloney, Tom Robnett, and D. W. Leggett.
Interment was at Mount Carmel Cemetery with arrangements in charge of R. W. Owens & Son Funeral Home.
Claude H. Vaden was born in Humbolt, Tennessee on January 17, 1882, the son of R. W. Vaden and Mary Motley Vaden. At the age of five years he came to Texas with his parents, settling near Wolfe City.
He was married to Della M. Williams, March 3, 1902 and to this union on child, a son, was born. Mr Vaden was a retired merchant and farmer and had been ill for several years. He was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include the widow, the son, L. Vaden, one grandson, Tommie Vaden, a sister, Mrs. J. M. Carter of Hamlin, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for W. T. (Dick) Vaden, 57, Fort Worth & Denver City Railway employee in Wichita Falls since 1918, will be held at 3 o'clock Sunday afternoon from Lamar Avenue Baptist Church. Rev W. H. Townsend, Olney Baptist minister, will officiate. Interment will be at Riverside under direction of Hampton, Vaughan & Merkle Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Ira Riddle, W. E. Baxter, M. E. Montgomery, Bill Nicholson, M. A. Zadik, and E. T. Northcutt.
Honorary pallbearers will be J. H. Cowart, L. W. Gaskill, Ed Morrison, R. E. James, Carl Smith, John D. Rieger, E. H. Wright, Emmett Lynch, Bill Brown, H. B. Ward, Douglas Gant, H. T. Walker, Tom Scott, B. P. Hathorn, J. Ireland, A. S. McGregor, W. P. Ruby, Roy Thompson, W. P. Jacks, Ed Cunningham, S. N. Kennamer, Jesse Noble, Aubrey Tipps, and all members of WOW camp no. 1006.
Vaden has served as secretary to the woodsman camp several years. He came to Wichita Falls from Jones County, where he had married in 1906. He was born in Wolfe City, Texas. A few years after coming to Wichita Falls in 1918, he joined the Lamar Avenue Baptist Church.
Survivors include the widow; two daughters, Mrs. Riley Rawls and Mrs. Mae Wright; a son, Tom Vaden of Los Angeles, Calif.; a bother, C. H. Vaden of Wolfe City; two sisters Mrs. J. M. Carter of McCaulley, Texas and Miss Annie Vaden of Wichita Falls, and three grandchildren.
