General Notes: Child - Daniel (Dan) Pollett



Dan and Clara were married in 1865 and moved to Kansas, Montgomery County, near Coffeyville (7 miles west) in 1871.  Dan did not homestead, but took over farm homesteader by another man who gave up relinquishment for a sum.  They moved to Kansas from Thornton, Indiana in a covered wagon with three children.  It took six weeks.
