Burial Notes: Husband - Casper Walser

Event Description: NO LONGER IN EXISTENCE

General Notes: Husband - Casper Walser

Gasper (or Casper) Walser was born in Gottlieben, Zurich, Switzerland and sailed from
Amsterdam on the ship Albany, via Isle of Cowes, England
and landed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, September 2, 1749.

This information posted by Eugenia Woods Weathersby, on GenForum.com, 1999.

He and his family settled in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and stayed there until
about 1771, when they moved to Rowan County (now Davidson County), North
Carolina and began farming.

Entries of Land, Rowan County, North Carolina show the following:

2/24/1780 entry #2479 purchase of 220 acres on Dyker's Creek

entry #2836 purchase of 10 acres, including an island in
Yadkin River

2/19/1785 entry #2867 purchase of 130 acres adjoining original 220
acres

Casper and Margaretha were buried, in all probability, in the Warner-Walser Cemetery on his property. This cemetery is no longer in existance and the few remaining stones were found in April 2005 lying under a tree on the farm (Riverbend) of Charles Bernhardt, which is a portion of original property owned by Casper.

Casper came to this country on the ship "Albany" from Rotterdam, via Cowes,
England and landed in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, September 2, 1749.
